Largs Yuletide evening will be taking place on Thursday December 7, so put the date in your diary for an evening of celebrations and fun for all the family; with the Yuletide Parade, late night shopping, free festive fireworks and lots of seasonal entertainment.

The whole event will be financed by Explore Largs BID who are co-organising the event with Duncan Conner, Proprietor of the Bus Stop Toy Shop.

Duncan Conner said: “The ever-growing evening event and annual parade, which features many of the towns businesses and youth groups, would not be possible without the financial input from Explore Largs BID.”

He continued: “This year’s extended parade will leave the Kwik Fit carpark at 6.30pm and end at Nardini’s in Greenock Road.”

He added: “Santa’s Grotto has a new venue this year too. For the first time ever the magical Grotto will be staged at M&Co in Main Street.”

Explore Largs BID Street Ambassador, Yvonne Prager, said: “M&Co is an ideal location for this one night Grotto event, which runs from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. It has wheelchair access and also provides plenty of space for an indoor waiting area for families.”

She continued: “Explore Largs has also arranged to have the venue professionally themed for the evening.”

Explore Largs BID, together North Ayrshire Council, are once again to co-fund the festive street lighting to make it a bigger and brighter Christmas for the town.

There will be a whole host of Christmas activities on the night with performances from local community groups as well as a treasure hunt competition, hidden in shops throughout the town, with vouchers to be won to spend in participating shops.

Back by overwhelming popular demand, the fireworks display, set on the Calmac Pier, will commence at approximately 8.20pm.

To complete the Christmas fun, there will be fairground rides, Charity stalls and lots of free entertainment at businesses throughout the town.

Yvonne added: “This is such an important night for businesses in Largs; a special evening to showcase their stock and encourage people to shop local for all their Christmas purchases.”

More information together with details of Yuletide night road closures will be detailed in the coming weeks.
