Millport's War Memorial was restored and ready in time for Remembrance Sunday.
The memorial had been in a poor state of repair and after a community campaign, involving the Royal British Legion, Cumbrae Community Council, and members of the public, North Ayrshire Council were involved in obtaining funds for a clean-up and maintenance to be carried out at the memorial.

The total cost of the repairs were £4686.85 with the majority of this coming from the Centenary Memorials Restoration fund.
A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: “We were delighted to receive confirmation of a successful grant application from the Centenary Memorials Restoration Fund, administered by War Memorials Trust, which allowed for the restoration work to be carried out.
“The funding allowed for the memorial to be cleaned, re-pointed, and the letters repainted as well as allowing the surrounding railings to be cleaned, primed and repainted."
