Ayrshire Cancer Support's charity shop in Largs has recently undergone a major internal transformation and is now making a plea for the community to help save it.

The Bath Street premises has been operating in Largs for in excess of 20 years helping to fund vital services for people affected by cancer in our area.

Laura Brown, Marketing Manager for Ayrshire Cancer Support said, "Our Largs shop had previously been managed and run by a local volunteer, however on her retiral we were faced with a decision as to whether to continue operating in Largs. The shop itself was in need or urgent internal repairs, which have now been done, free of charge by our landlord and it's looking great.

"The last manager had run the shop almost single handedly and her departure means that we will have to recruit additional volunteers to continue trading. Having consulted the local community. it's clear that they want to have a charity shop that belongs to a local charity.

"To do this, we need people to come forward and volunteer their time to help run it. We are recruiting for a range of positions and I would urge anyone who has an interest in running and staffing the shop to contact us.'
