P1 have been learning to sing a Chinese New Year song in Mandarin. They have listened to Mrs McDonald talking about Internet Safety. They are developing their hockey skills during PE sessions.

P2 have been learning about prepositions to describe where something is. We have also learned about pyramids in Ancient Egypt and written our own imaginative stories about an explorer discovering a pyramid. We have made Chinese lanterns and learned the Chinese New Year song in preparation for our Assembly.

P3 have been learning how coordinates are used in real life contexts and have been using their times table knowledge to complete division sums. They have also enjoyed working with our Mandarin teacher making firecrackers for our Chinese New Year celebrations.

P5/4 enjoyed celebrating Mass at St. Mary’s Church with our families and friends from our parish community. It was great to see some of our staff and pupils from years gone by too. It has been a very emotional week as we prepare to start on our big adventure at our new school. It was lovely having a who school photo in the playground to remind us of all our happy times together!

P6 have been working on creating a painting in the style of Steven MyCoo. They used brush strokes and bright colours to complete their work based on a rainforest animal.

P7 enjoyed sampling our new teaching tool for music in which they are learning to rap the theme tune from ‘The Fresh Prince of Belle Air’. They have returned safe and sound from Arran with lots of happy memories and stories to tell.

All classes will be visiting the library throughout the day on Thursday 15 February. Parent helpers required to accompany the children.
