A 37 year old man sustained a 'stab wound' following a broad daylight attack near Largs town centre.
The incident happened on Friday 30 March at 3.50pm in Boyd Street.
Police reports stated that there was a brawl involving three men in which two were assaulted, aged 30 and 37.
Inspector Colin Convery said: "The 37 year old sustained what is believed to be a stab wound and a 30 year old was also punched.
"Enquiries are ongoing into the incident, which is being led by the CID."
The road area was closed for between 5-6 hours as a police examination took place into the incident.
