Homeward bound!
The beautiful Fife ketch ‘Kentra’ is being re-launched at Fairlie Quay after a refit. This photo was taken last weekend by David Cook.
Fairlie community councillor David Telford said: "This is a good opportunity to remind everyone of the supreme craftsmanship of the ‘fast and bonnie’ yachts that were built in Fairlie by Fairlie craftsmen."
The Fife Boatyard spanned three generations of the Family family with William Fife III designing world class sailing vessels which still sail around the globe today, and competed in the America's Cup in the early 20th century.
Fairlie Community Trust have purchased a house in Bay Street in Fairlie, alongside where the boatyard used to be, with hopes of converting it into a heritage centre.
