Sailings aboard the world’s last seagoing Paddle Steamer start on the May Bank Holiday weekend.

On Friday May 25 you can sail from Largs to visit Dunoon or sail amid the dramatic mountain scenery of one of the Clyde 'Fjords' Loch Long. On Sunday May 27 you can sail from Largs or Millport to Arran!

Waverley’s summer sailings begin on Tuesday June 26.

Named after Sir Walter Scott’s first novel, Waverley was built for the London & North Eastern Railway to replace the paddle steamer, HMS Waverley, which was sunk on May 29th, 1940 whilst evacuating troops from Dunkirk. Launched on October 2, 1946 from the former A&J Inglis yard in Glasgow, Waverley made her maiden voyage on June 16, 1947 and started what was to become a very long career. You can help ensure she continues to sail by booking a trip on Waverley this year.

Restored to her 1940’s glory, passengers and visitors can eat, drink and relax in a choice of locations, including the traditional steamer dining saloon, the Caledonia Tea Room and the sun kissed promenade deck. Waverley also boasts the Jeanie Deans lounge, and the Malt Whisky Bars which provide a range of refreshments to suit everyone’s taste.

Andy O’Brian, Waverley’s Captain said:

“The West Coast of Scotland showcases some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and Waverley offers the most unique way in which to view this breathtaking landscape. Every passenger who comes aboard helps this beautiful ship continue to sail and I would encourage everyone to come and enjoy a trip on her. We look forward to welcoming you onboard.
