Here they come!
The famous scarecrows have started to perch themselves on the roofs and shop signs in West Kilbride before the big festival launch this Saturday.
The parade leaves the station at 12.30, and an appeal has gone out from the organisers for lots of children to make a scarecrow on a stick for the parade. 
There will be sports events in the Glen as well as Tadpool for the younger kids. 
Live entertainment includes the West Sound stage for Some Wimmin Drummin, the Village Folk Band, Ukulele group and anyone else who wants to show off their talent. 
Also look out for a Hidden Object Competition and a Treasure Trail. Competition forms are available from Wm Burtons Electricians Main St West Kilbride for £1 entry, this Competition will run until 12 noon on Friday 10 August.
And the winners of all the competitions will be announced at the afternoon tea, starting at 2pm in the Village Hall on Saturday 11th August.
Provost Ian Clarkson will be presenting the prizes.
