A section of Castlepark Drive - numbers 1 to 9 - has been closed in Fairlie for Scottish Power emergency works.
The road is due to re-open on 24 August.
A Scottish Power spokeswoman said: "It is because of an old street lighting cable which was damaged and is being repaired."
A public meeting involving the local residents affected had been set to take place in the Fairlie Village Hall concerning the problem but was cancelled when the cause became apparent.
