MILLPORT'S September Weekend was once again an event to remember.
The whole island played its part to enjoy good old fashioned family fun - from sandcastle building competitions to fancy dress and even searching the shore for the biggest crab of them all.
A throwback to traditional times without technology, it proved hugely popular.
The September Illuminations event dates back to the mid-1930s, and late night shopping, fireworks, and a family ceilidh were part of the programme.
But the varied and fun free competitions captured the imagination.
