A DRAMATIC River Clyde rescue was launched off Largs after a man on board a yacht took seriously ill.
A full emergency response was triggered on Sunday morning amid testing weather conditions.
Largs RNLI crew were first on the scene, two miles south of the Toward Point, and two of their crew members boarded the yacht to provide assistance to the casualty.
The coastguard helicopter from Prestwick was also scrambled and a crewman paramedic was lowered onto the lifeboat before then boarding the yacht to carry out an assessment of the gentleman’s condition.
The vessel then made its way in to Largs Yacht Haven, escorted by the lifeboat.
When the yacht arrived at the Haven, the casualty, who was conscious, was transferred to an ambulance and rushed to hospital.
