A FORMER Largs Academy pupil danced her way to a dream job with Disney - before landing a spot as a performer in one of Europe’s biggest stage shows.

Lucy Borrie, 20, from Fairlie has been living a real-life fairytale at Disneyland Paris this summer working at the resort.

Lucy was offered a job as a parade performer and was also part of the gala Marvel Summer of Superheroes show after graduating from ballet school.

She said: “My time at Disney has been unbelievable - I had to pinch myself every day that it was real.

“I've been so lucky to be given such an amazing opportunity.

“I was fortunate enough to be a part of the opening of the Marvel Summer of Superheroes at Disney and spent a lot of time with the Black Widow, played by Scarlet Johansson in the Marvel films.

“Then I was cast as another character where I got to spend a lot of time with Sleeping Beauty and Princess Aurora.

"It's quite a day job!"

Having fallen in love with dancing at 13, Lucy attended the Janice Marshall Stage School in Irvine, which she credits with helping her on her way to success.

She knew that she wanted to pursue a career in dance and began looking at ways of making her dream a reality.

At 17, she was accepted at the Northern Ballet School for a three-year vocational training course and left Largs Academy.

She added: “Moving away at 17 was never easy but it pushed me to accomplish my goals and focus on what I really wanted.

“Throughout my three years at Northern Ballet School I really grew as a person and I faced more challenges than I ever thought would come my way.

“With the amazing training and opportunities I was given U began auditioning for professional jobs, everything from cabarets to cruise lines.

“Then I got offered my first job at Disney and in May this year, which was a dream come true."

As Lucy’s time at Disney was coming to an end she began auditioning for other jobs, keen to fulfil her ultimate dream of dancing in Paris.

She added: “My dream job has always been to work in the Moulin Rouge and I'm more determined than ever to get there at some point in life.

“I have just moved out to Spain to start a new part in a show called Allegras, which I have been lucky enough to be cast in.

"This show is known to be one of the best and most in Europe and I am beyond excited to get started.

“And I guess I’m one step closer to the Moulin Rouge.”
