Inverclyde Sports Centre have kicked off their annual #festivefit campaign with their gym team.

Spokeswoman Viki Nocker explained: "All of our members can now take part in our Largs to Lapland challenge on the treadmills by logging your mileage with our instructors up to Christmas Eve.

"Our instructors have also created some mini workouts for you to choose from if you are looking for a new challenge.

"Each instructor has a Christmas stocking displayed at the entrance to the fitness suite – take your pick and follow the workout."

Midweek last week Inverclyde welcomed a group of young people from Holy Cross High School who were completing their Sports Leaders Awards. It was the first time the school had visited the centre and the young people tried a whole new range of sports and worked with our own team of coaches to learn the ropes. A really successful trip for them all as part of their award.

Amputee Football Association Scotland held a tournament over the weekend. A number of teams took part including the Scotland squad and also the Irish Development squad along with Partick Thistle and Dundee United.

Viki Nocker added: "It was great to have the teams here and welcome back the Scotland team again to the centre – we are always delighted to host them!
