A Largs teenager will make theatre history this week when he "flies" across the stage of Barrfields Pavilion Theatre.

Academy pupil Chris Haggerty will be the flying Peter Pan in the Largs Players pantomime of that name between Thursday and Saturday. It will be the first time that an actor has been propelled into the air in the 80 year old Barrfields auditorium.

If all goes right - and the Players have paid thousands of pounds to make it work - Tinkerbell, played by another Academy pupil Daisy Wilson will also be seen flying.

At the time of going to press Peter Pan, directed by Laura Edison, was almost a sell-out with the Saturday matinee sold weeks ago.

Leading a big cast and chorus is traditional Dame (Jon Wilkin) with his comic sidekick (Matt Carnegie) and a host of new characters such as Marydoll the Mermaid, played by Stephanie Caldwell.

Thursday and Friday shows begin at 7.30pm with the Saturday shows at 1.30 and 6.30pm.
