THE iconic DeLorean from legendary Hollywood blockbuster Back to the Future will be zooming into Inverclyde Sports Centre next month.

Marty McFly's time travelling automobile of choice is the star attractions at the second Largs Comic Con, which has a new venue to capitalise on the immense success of last year's launch event.

It took place at Vikingar! but the organisers have moved to a bigger venue to allow more people to visit.

The Delorean from Back to the Future will be parked inside and attendees will be able to have their picture taken alongside it.

Chewbacca from Star Wars and Avenger's Ironman were among the special guests last year as fans got into the spirit of the event by dressing up as heroes and villains.

This year's festival will take place on Saturday 23 February.

Organiser Ian Bonar, of Big Glasgow Comic Page, said: "Comic-mania has been sweeping the country of late, with a series of Comic Con events taking place all over Scotland.

"The Big Glasgow Comic Page has been spearheading the movement touring Glasgow and now returns to Largs for it's second year and in our new venue."

The event takes place from 10am - 4pm and will feature over 60 traders, activities for all ages from tots to adults, as well as a series of guest appearances from writers and artists from Marvel, DC, Image and 2000ad comics.

The Delorean from Back to the Future will also be parked so attendees can have their picture taken alongside it.

Ian added: “The first Largs Comic Con had an overwhelming response and sold out in no time. Luckily we found out about the new Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre which is perfect for a Comic Con so it means we'll be able to present an even bigger event for all of Largs to enjoy. Hopefully it'll be our Largs venue for years to come.”

The event is suitable for all ages and under tens can go free.
