A 1970's Guzzi motorbike is turning heads as an unusual new centrepiece in one of Largs' cafes.

The newly-opened Cafe Guzzi's decided to park the motorbike in the middle of the eatery as a nod to it's unusual name.

The bike, which belongs to owner Keren McClure's husband, has become something of a 'must-see' attraction in the town and a real talking point among customers.

Keren says it is a bit of fun and offers something quirky to the town.

She said: "The motorbike was actually my husband's, which he used to drive around on when he lived in London.

"It's not a fast bike or anything, which I suppose I was a bit thankful for!

"He started to overhaul and restore it a while ago and it became a bit of a project for him, taking it apart and putting it all back together.

"Having it in the cafe just became an idea that we ran with - and I think it looks brilliant.

"It's a great conversation point for customers, and will be especially popular when all the bikers come down in the summer months."

Keren joked: "It will be more of a masculine cafe for them to come to for a tea or coffee!".

Keren also revealed that the Guzzi could soon have a rival for customers' attention.

She added: "My husband is working on another bike at the moment, although it is a long way off from being finished.

"Perhaps if we have a few bikes we can swap them in and out so people can pop along and see what is in the cafe at the time."

With the walls decked out in neon-lit road signs and the motorbike parked underneath, the previous Bon Bon cafe is now unrecognisable.

Hundreds of bikers regularly visit Largs during the summer months, with events held on the prom to show off their vehicles.

Keren said: "Hopefully we can become a regular stop for them as well as popular among locals."
