It was smiles all round as a coffee morning in Fairlie Parish Church did its bit for important local causes. The annual event takes place every February to raise funds for the Semple Centre in Fairlie and Haylie House Residential Care Home in Largs.
The Semple Centre in Fairlie is one of the hidden gems in the village, and is well used by a number of local groups.
Secretary Maggie Telfer is hoping that more groups can use the Main Street facility which celebrates the memory of Dugald Semple - a Scottish advocate of' simple living', a naturalist and prolific author.
The premises are now used by the bridge club, snooker club and a community singing group.
Haylie House in Largs provide a peaceful, comfortable and caring environment and encourages residents to maintain their independence, whilst being cared for in a pleasant homely environment.
