The Farmers and Farmers Wives Choir is performing at St Columba’s Parish Church on Saturday 23rd February at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).

These joint choirs, were formed six years ago in 2013 taking part in the Scottish farmers 75th Anniversary Concert held in the Hydro Arena Glasgow. Since then the choirs have performed at events all over Scotland helping raise funds for RHET in Dumfries, RSABI in Troon concert hall, Children’s Hospital in St Nicholas Church Uddingston. They also make regular appearances at the Royal Highland Show and earlier this year performed in the Sands Centre for the Rotary Club Carlisle to an audience of over 1300 people.

Their programme includes selections from Les Mis, Guys and Dolls, Greatest Showman, Simon and Garfunkel, along with renditions of My Prayer, Stand by me, Hallelujah, I Love Rock ’n’ Roll and many more.

The proceeds for this concert will be shared between their Two Charites Motor Neurone Disease and MacMillan Nurses.

This is the first of a wonderful selection of concerts sponsored by St Columba’s Heritage Centre this year.
