A consultation on a new housing development in Millport due to take place today has been cancelled due to Storm Gareth.

With adverse weather expected and possible ferry disruption, the event about a planned £2.68million development at St Beya Gardens will be rescheduled.

Largs and Millport Weekly News:

The development forms part of the Council’s vision to deliver more than 1,300 new properties by 2024 – one of the most ambitious Council house building programmes in the UK.

North Ayrshire Council’s Housing Services will host a fresh consultation event on a new date to allow people to:

* view the final plans and house designs,

* discuss any questions about the works directly with the contractor; and

* obtain information regarding site access arrangements and traffic management proposals.

The proposed development at St Beya Gardens will provide 18 new council homes, including general needs, amenity and wheelchair units.

Building works at the site are currently expected to commence this summer with residents moving into homes next year.

The proposals will be available to view online from Wednesday, 13 March, until Wednesday, 3 April, at www.northayrshire.community/consultations/open-consultations
