With Largs really short on players, it could turn out to be a good point against Pollok last Saturday.

It sounded an exciting match with lots of goals and a good few talking points besides.

In terms of the Macron Scottish Cup semi-final v Hurlford, I think that is a good draw for Largs, probably the best they could have hoped for although perhaps the first leg would have been better away from home however that did not effect Man Utd v PSG.

Hurlford are full of experienced players but that should not frighten Largs.

My feeling is they are fitter than Hurlford and that will see them through.

The Hurlford manager Darren Henderson will do his homework , will have Largs watched and no doubt will watch them himself.

He did the same at this stage last season leaving his staff to manage a game while he watched Wishaw.

Hurlford like to put crosses into the box so for me the Largs defence are key they need to stand tall and be big players for the team.

Blair Park has had work done on the surface so no excuses there .

The past two rounds of the cup for Hurlford have went to replays and by all accounts they had the luck to see them through the first game on both occasions.

The Largs players need to enjoy the occasion and play to their full potential. They are probably underdogs for this one just like we were in 94 so no pressure except that they put on themselves.

Before the semi they have league games to play and they should not take their eye off the ball there.

It also gives the played the chance to stake their claim in the team against Hurlford.

Largs need to focus on this semi - the players need to understand how big this is.

* How good was it to see the Man Utd guys celebrating the victory v PSG .... Fergie, Cantona, Evra and Neville all celebrating .. great traditions and a great feeling for the club. Glory, glory Manchester United.

Our 94 cup winning team I think feel the same way about Largs. The last final we all went together to the game was not the result we wanted v Linlithgow though in 2010.

It is remarkable to think that it was 25 years ago this season and Largs are back in the semis this year.

It promises to be a great occasion for the club and the players, I wish I was playing!

* Striking a good deal ... Rangers signing Alfredo Morales up on a long contract seems a great bit of business for the Ibrox side. They are a different team with him playing. Now if any transfer bids do come in they can ask for top dollar. I am delighted to see Neil Lennon back as manager at Celtic. He is a big personality and the next Old Firm game should be very intriguing indeed.
