Local MP Patricia Gibson is saying it with flowers as she helped launch of the Great Daffodil Appeal, Marie Curie’s annual fundraising campaign, held every March.

Patricia was joined by Marie Curie Ambassador Stephen Mangan and Rapid Response Healthcare Assistant Patricia McDonnell for the event.

Every five minutes, someone in the UK dies without getting the care and support they need at the end of their life.

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading charity for people with any terminal illness, helping people and their families make the most of the time they have together by delivering expert hands-on care, emotional support, research and guidance.

Patricia and Stephen are encouraging people to donate and wear a daffodil pin to fund vital care and support.

Money raised from the Appeal will help Marie Curie be there for people living with illness such as terminal cancer, dementia, heart failure, and motor neurone disease.
