It has been confirmed that Largs racing enthusiast Glenn Alcock would be joining the Scottish C1 grid for his inaugural season of racing. West College Scotland Automotive department, who have now set up an official College Motorsport Academy, will be running Glenn in the 2019 C1 Cup.
Commenting on the news, Glenn said: “I am delighted to be racing for West College Scotland Motorsport Academy in the 2019 Scottish C1 Cup.
"First of all, I’d like to thank Patrick McGroarty and West College Scotland for all their time and effort producing a great car. It will be a fantastic experience working alongside the students and learning from each other as we embark on our collective first season of motor racing. Hopefully this will inspire other colleges to get involved in Scottish motorsport. 
"I’d also like to thank the Scottish Motor Racing Club for their continued support and guidance over the last few months. 
"With the test session fast approaching I know myself and the students from the college are eager to get on track to establish our goals for the first race!”
Glenn, who holds a National 'B' Racing Licence and has previously driven a Formula 1 and Formula 3 cars, is now looking for sponsorship as he branches out on to the circuit. 
Glenn set up ‘SuperfastScots’ on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to profile the talented young Scottish racing drivers coming through the ranks and support charities such as The Jim Clark Trust and Disability Motorsport Scotland.
