Get on your bike and help young people get their lives back on track after cancer when the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust's first ever Largs to Cowes Charity Cycle gets underway in May.

Up to 10 cyclists from across Ayrshire are invited to get involved and take part in the first 105.7km day ride starting from the Trust's northern base at Largs Yacht Haven to Sanquhar in Dumfries and Galloway on Saturday 4 May.

In total, a core team of 12 riders will take on the whole 940km (584 mile) nine-day challenge from Largs to the Trust's headquarters in Cowes on the Isle of Wight.

The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust supports young people aged 8-24 to rebuild their confidence after cancer through sailing. When treatment ends the Trust's work begins as for many young people simply picking up where they left off before their diagnosis just isn't possible.

In total 569 young people in recovery from cancer have set sail on transformational sails from Largs, and a further 246 are looking forward to joining a trip this summer.
