The New Zealand flag was flying in Fairlie at the weekend in a sign of solidarity with those grieving after the horrific terrorist attack in Christchurch last Friday.
The flagpole at Ferry Row often has a range of different flags flying on it throughout the year.
There are a number of connections between Fairlie and New Zealand, including a village called Fairlie on the south island of New Zealand.
There is also a Kelburn district in Wellington with a former Earl of Glasgow having been Governor of New Zealand between 1892 and 1897, and a number of exotic plants from the country were planted in the grounds at Kelburn.
The world was left shocked by the the attacks on two mosques in Christchurch which resulted in 50 people being killed.
