A Largs man has been made an honorary member of the Largs Players theatre club after 40 years of stellar service.
Former club president George Whitestone was awarded the special members certificate at the groups recent AGM in the Woodhouse Hotel by president Maggie Telfer.
George was also a former stage convener and not only performed in plays, pantomimes and festival productions but was a stage manager and designer of what were described as 'Hollywood sets' using his talents as a skilled craftsman.
For more than 20 years he organised the building of the stage for the summer theatre in the Brisbane Centre.
In his thanks, George recounted his involvement in club activities since the 70s.
Maggie Telfer was re-elected as president with Laura Edison, vice president, Fiona Carruthers as secretary while Jon Wilkin succeeded Ian Sommerville as club treasurer.
