A WOMAN is flying high after winning her very own VIP party plane to Majorca - complete with a former X Factor star.

Former Largs Player Kirsty Connor, 35, is on cloud nine after winning the Jet2holidays' nationwide 'Party Plane' competition.

Kirsty's 'Just Plane Lucky' entry beat out thousands of entries to secure her the top prize of a weekend in Majorca, complete with celebrity travel buddy Rylan Clark-Neal.

She said: "I am just stunned to have won this amazing competition. We worked tirelessly for three weeks to put this entry together and I cannot believe that we have been chosen from the thousands of fantastic entries.

"Our Party Plane entry is made up of my friends from a Facebook group called Lucky Learners, which is a friendly chat group for anyone who loves entering competitions and we all have a positive, lucky attitude to life.

"It has been an amazing experience and it has really brought everyone in our group together.

"During my maternity leave a few years ago I was looking for a new hobby I could do during the long nights awake feeding my baby. I saw a program on TV about a lady who entered competitions for fun and I decided to give it a try.

"Before long I became friends with other ‘compers’ online and realised there’s a wonderful community of us all over the UK.

"We came up with the name "Just Plane Lucky" as we felt it was a good reflection of our hobby.

"Our entry included fun photos and videos of the group members with their lucky charms and we even wrote a lucky theme song.

"Although we chat every day on Facebook, many of us have never met each other in real life, so it will be fantastic to finally meet up at such an exciting celebration.

"A lot of us have been through difficult times in life, struggled with mental health issues or even just needed a friend to talk to, and our comping community has been a great place to make new friends.

“I’d like to say a massive thanks to everyone who voted, as well as everyone at Jet2holidays. I just cannot wait to fly away on this trip of a lifetime with Rylan.”

The former Largs Academy pupil's winning entry was chosen in a public vote out of nine finalists from across the UK that were shortlisted by Rylan.

He said: “I was absolutely blown away by the thousands of entries, but Kirsty’s showed so much fun and creativity. She really deserves this for all the effort and hard work that she has put in.

"I can’t wait to get on board and join her and the rest of the Just Plane Lucky group for a weekend of celebrating in sunny Majorca. It’s going to be an unforgettable trip.”

The UK’s second largest tour operator launched the Party Plane competition to celebrate the arrival of the 100th aircraft into its fleet

It will be an added bonus for Kirsty and her husband John as they will celebrate their birthdays on the trip.
