Sentimental goods including a watch were stolen from a property in Largs on Saturday afternoon.
The housebreaking in Nelson Street was reported to police.
A quantity of personal items were taken.
The matter is being investigated by Largs Locality Policing Team.
Inspector Colin Convery said: "I would appeal to members of the community who may know who was responsible to contact Police Scotland through 101 or via Crimestoppers."
