A LARGS fishmonger has proved som-fin special after netting a top industry honour.
John Watson, of C Fayre in Aitken Street, is scaling the heights after becoming Scotland's first certified master fishmonger, accredited by The Fishmongers Guild of London.
He joins a growing band of master fishmongers throughout the UK.
Being accredited as a master fishmonger demonstrate excellence in, and dedication to, the seafood industry.
Over the years, John has built strong relationships to ensure the highest quality standards and has helped to influence and improve practices across the supply chain.
A spokesman for The Fishmongers Guild of London said: "Achievement of the MFS master fishmonger accolade is significant, reserved for only the finest fishmongers.
"It demonstrates their broad and balanced experiences within the industry, celebrates their successes as a steward of the sea and commends their continued commitment to the trade."
