IT was a day fit for a queen as the sun shone on the West Kilbride Summer Gala.

Children and adults enjoyed a range of stalls, fairground attractions, entertainments, refreshments, and more at the event.

It was a particularly exciting day for young Lily Taylor, who was crowned this year's gala queen.

Lily was well attended to by her entourage, Heather Jack, Chloe Rushbrook, Ava Riddex and Abi Fergus.

Parading into town alongside them in the royal float was page boys Marley Melendez, Corey Adams and Jamie Brown.

This year's flower girls were Emma McConnachie, Emma Gillespie and Anna Gillespie.

The day of family fun was kicked off with the parade at midday, with the flamboyant samba band Sumwummindrummin leading the festivities.

Next Dance Depot showed off their moves as they put on a spectacular display.

Catering for everyone, there was live music from Craig Scott, Penetrations, Anton O'Donnell, William Smith, Bitchy Business and Audiohaus.

It was six hours of non-stop family fun as the gala enjoyed a new location at the Parish Church and King's Car Park.
