Council Leader Joe Cullinane is set to go live on social media to tackle residents’ questions on the basic income concept.
The local authority are exploring the feasibility of introducing a Basic Income pilot into the area.
The policy aims to provide every citizen with a regular, unconditional payment, regardless of other forms of income.
It aims to promote equality and provide people with a basic income they can use whether they want to earn, learn, care, or set up a business.
To allow residents to understand more, the Council Leader will be hosting his second ‘Ask the Leader Live’ themed on the topic.
Residents can tune into the live feed to watch or put forward questions from 7pm on Wednesday 19 June, either by logging onto Facebook and visiting the Customer Services, North Ayrshire Council page, or by watching on Twitter via the @NAC_Leader account.
Questions can also be submitted in advance by emailing them to: Leader@north-ayrshire.gov.uk
Council Leader Joe Cullinane said: “I'm delighted to be hosting another live session, providing residents with an opportunity to come and have a chat with me around Basic Income in a more relaxed and informal setting."
