NEW research has confirmed that the Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium is not only set within one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland but it is also the highest located crematorium in the country.

At 731 feet above sea level, its sits substantially above any other crematorium in Scotland in terms of location.

The nearest other facility is West Lothian Crematorium at 492 feet above sea level, followed by South Lanarkshire at 489 feet.

Philip Ewing, crematorium manager said: “This is a really nice accolade to have - it feels fitting, given the deeply important and sensitive nature of the services we perform.

“We think that our crematorium is truly a special place, thanks to our elevated position within the internationally recognised Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, and the unique, serene and comforting atmosphere that our surroundings create.

“From our ceremony hall we look out towards the peaks of Arran, and from our entrance and Porte Cochere we have incredible panoramic views out and across the Garnock Valley.

“Families come to us to mark the passing of their loved ones, and to hold a memorable service and a celebration of their life – and we think that our special place, high up in the Clyde Muirshiel Hills, higher than any other crematorium in the country, helps to make our services that little bit more poignant, special and unique.”
