Repairs are taking place at the seafront car park entrance after an accidental crash on Sunday evening.

At 7.44pm on 30 June, Police Scotland received a report of a vehicle striking the barrier at the entry to the public parking at Largs.

Officers attended and minor damage was discovered to the vehicle and the barrier.

Inspector Colin Convery said: "Enquiries are ongoing."

A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: “The car park entry system is operating as normal.

“We can confirm there was damage to both entry columns over the weekend and the contract engineer will attend as soon as possible to address any issues.

"In the meantime, Streetscene personnel have carried out remedial works to ensure the car park continues to function as normal.”
