Members of the local Largs Rock Choir helped to raise the roof at St.Columba’s Church, Largs all in the name of Charity in a recent summer performance.

The choir led by Rock Choir Leader Jennifer Sim started up in 2013 and since then has grown from strength to strength.

The daytime choir meet weekly during term time in Largs and they sing feel good upbeat songs. A very friendly and welcoming group there is no audition or requirement to read music.

As part of their end of term celebrations the choir performed their repertoire at St.Columba's Church which was filled with friends, family and members of the public all donating at the door to charity with a grand total of £1,000 being raised on the day with funds going to the Pancreatic Cancer charity.

The church provided refreshments for everyone at the end of the performance.

Jennifer said “It was a fantastic event. The church was packed and it was so lovely to receive such great feedback from those that came along to join us -it feels great not only to be singing and performing to a big audience, but also to be raising money for such a good cause in the process.

"People of all ages were there. It was a joyous occasion for everyone involved."

The choir will take a break over the summer and will resume in September.
