A missing kayaker near Inverkip sparked an emergency call out for Largs Lifeboat late last Friday.
The R A Wilson vessel launched at 10.27pm with volunteer crew following a coastguard report of a overdue kayaker between Inellan and Inverkip.
Alasdair Woods, spokesman for Largs Lifeboat, said: "Following a search the single manned kayak was located and the occupant found to be safe and well.
"As it was getting late and darkness had fallen the lifeboat crew decided to escort the casualty to his destination of Inverkip Sailing club’s slipway
"The lifeboat then returned to station, was refuelled washed down and rehoused just after midnight."
