Green MSP Ross Greer will be attending tonight's public meeting in Largs in relation to calls for an environmental impact assessment into the proposed oil rig decommissioning yard at Hunterston.
A spokeswoman for the Friends of the Firth of Clyde grou said: We have been overwhlemed by the support of locals and visitors to Largs who have signed over 1500 "No Way Without An EIA" postcards that have been sent to Graham Black, Director of Marine Scotland this week.
"Come and join us at Largs Academy, 7pm to hear an update on Peel Ports proposals for oil rig decommissioning and developments in the Friends of the Firth of Clyde's fight for an Environmental impact Assessment (EIA). There will be an opportunity to ask questions, sign EIA postcards and take part in a discussion of how the community can continue to support the call for an EIA.
The meeting was called by independent councillor Ian Murdoch.
