The Viking Festival Bar will not be returning this year to Largs esplanade this year, the News can reveal.
The licensed area was introduced for the first time last year with live music performances but came under fire for selling pints at £5.
Alex Gallagher, who is chair of the Viking Festival, said: "I don't think it was something that was geared up for our clientele.
"It won't be coming back this year but we will be looking at having something different in its place.
"I am very pleased about this year's Viking Festival programme and we have an exciting range of events from flying displays to live music and dancing displays.
"We are sure there will be plenty to keep people entertained."
The Viking Festival runs from 31 August to 8 September.
