TEACHERS at Largs Primary this term after the school welcomed a new set of twins for 2019.

As the only 'similar siblings' to be starting primary one, sisters Farrah and Fallon Ross were raring to kickstart their school career.

The adorable sisters were smartly dressed for their first day and were keen to get settled into primary school life along with their new classmates.

The youngsters are the flying the flag for twins on their own this time after three sets entered the school in 2018.

With head teacher Mrs Dorrian off sick it was down acting head teacher Mrs Colquhoun to welcomed all of the new recruits to their new school.

She said: "Our year at Largs Primary is off to a flying start.

"The primary one boys and girls have settled quickly into the routine of school life and our primary sevens are rising to the responsibilities of being buddies, monitors and playground leaders.

"We are sorry that Mrs Dorrian has been unwell over the holidays and we wish her a speedy recovery.

"Since our return to school, the children are enjoying the identified zones in the playground with many new games, equipment and resources.

"Elaine Walker, family learning worker, has had a drop-in session for parents and carers and has shared her exciting plans for the year ahead.

"The rest of the school are all excited to be back and Primary 3 is learning about the Vikings and we had a trip to the Vikingar and Viking Village which were superb."

These are only the second group of primary ones to be welcomed in to the new school since it opened, however most have progressed from Largs Early Years and surrounding nurseries.
