Two Ladies Lunch Clubs held in aid of the Ayrshire Hospice joined forces on Thursday 22 August at an afternoon tea event to raise vital funds for the local charity.

The highly anticipated event – which had been sold out since early in the year – sees the ‘Ladies Who Lunch’ club of North Ayrshire and ‘Ladies Lunch Club’ of South Ayrshire come together to present a cheque for £36,000 to the hospice from their all year round fundraising.

The event took place in the beautiful Firth Pavilion function suite at Seamill Hydro Hotel with over 250 guests in attendance from across Ayrshire.

Upon arrival, the ladies were treated to a glass of fizz and then had the chance to browse some of the beautiful stalls on offer whilst taking in the stunning views across the Firth of Clyde.

A wonderful afternoon tea was then served by the attentive staff of Seamill Hydro Hotel.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the audience enjoyed a cake demonstration by Cake Halliday and an entertaining fashion promenade, courtesy of Marks & Spencer, Kilmarnock.

Over £5,300 was raised from the day which was a wonderful result.

Lyn Bateman, Senior Fundraising Officer at the Ayrshire Hospice said: “The committees of both lunch clubs work tirelessly all year round and go ‘above and beyond’ with their excellent fundraising. They are always coming up with new ideas and we are so lucky at the hospice to have such dedicated volunteer fundraisers.

“Thank you to everyone who made the afternoon such a success, from both Ladies Lunch Club committees, attendees, volunteers, stall holders, Cake Halliday, Marks & Spencer Kilmarnock, and all the staff at Seamill Hydro Hotel.”

Both lunch clubs will start their new sessions in September 2019. For more information on joining either of the lunch clubs at their monthly lunch please contact Lyn Bateman on 01292 288488 or email community@ayrshirehospice.org.
