A road problem on the road leading out of town to Greenock will be fixed on Saturday after intervention by a local councillor.
Independent councillor Ian Murdoch, pictured, had a meeting with concerned residents near South Whittlieburn Cottage on Saturday regarding the state of the road.
He said: "The surface had been laid far too high and created an edge which meant that the left hand side was in danger of causing an accident
"I spoke to the roads department at North Ayrshire Council about trying to get the matter resolved.
"They hope to have the road surface re-laid in the next few days which should mean that the problem is sorted."
The road is past the Brisbane Glen Road and leads on to the old Largs road up the back hills to Greenock.
The road at Brisbane Glen Road (Kilburn Water Junction to Rottenburn Bridge) will be closed on 21 September from 9am to 4pm for the repairs.
