Morrison's Supermarket in Largs is hosting an autism hour on Saturday 5 and 12 October.
Between 9am-10am, the Irvine Road store will dim the lights, turn the music and radio off, avoid tannoy announcements, and reduce movement of trolleys and baskets.
Even turning the checkout beeps and other electrical noises down will take place to reduce the background noise.
A spokesperson for Morrisons said: "This new initiative has been created with the support of the National Autistic Society.
"Many people who are autistic or those with autistic children can find shopping in a supermarket an anxious experience.
" We have identified improvements that could be made as well as the best time for the quieter hour to take place."
