The next OIR outing is on Friday 25 October is inspired by The Da Vinci Code.
They are heading to the to Rosslyn Chapel and the National Mining Museum.
Rosslyn Chapel was used as a setting in Dan Brown’s famous book about the Holy Grail which was also turned into a movie starring Tom Hanks.
From there the party will head to the old Lady Victoria Colliery at Newtongrange. After an included lunch an ex-miner will provide a guided tour around the pithead area including a simulated pit face operation where we can imagine what it was like deep underground.
The bus leaves Bath Street at 8:30am and should be back in Largs by 7pm .
Tickets for members and guests cost £40 and are available from the OIR Office
