One of the senior singing groups in the area has been celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Formed in 1969, the St. Maura Singers has always been associated with the Cathedral of The Isles, Millport.
Next Sunday in St. Columba's Parish Church, Largs ,at 3pm, the singers will present a recital of Scottish classical music from the time of Mary, Queen of Scots.
Throughout the fifty years, the St Mauras have performed music associated with the great Scottish musical scholar Kenneth Elliott.
With Peter Wakeford at the organ, they will perform music from the court of the Stuarts, the royal family of Scotland, and allow the audience to hear the music which would have entertained the court at Holyrood,Stirling and Linlithgow.
There will be a retiring collection to help cover the expenses of the concert.
All welcome.
