ADOPTIVE families across Wirral are being asked to provide a forever home for children in the local area.

Barnardo's has launched an appeal for First4Adoption's National Adoption Week which runs until Sunday, October 20.

The charity is now urging anyone who believes they could have room in their hearts and homes to get in touch.

Specialist staff from the charity are working with potential adopters to help them become parents for the first time or to extend their families.

Nicola Williams, a senior manager at Barnardo’s North West Adoption Service said: “Some children have sadly had a more difficult start to life than others, but we are passionate about helping these children to find the loving and supportive families they deserve, who will believe in them and show them a positive future filled with hope.

“We are keen for people of all ethnicities and backgrounds to get in touch with us, and whether you already have children, are single or married, male or female, a homeowner or renting, identify as straight or LGBTQ+, or have just always wanted to start a family, we would like to hear from you.

“Adoption can be a life changing and life enriching experience for not only the child, but the parents too, with many telling us it’s the best decision they’ve ever made.

"We see adoption as a lifelong journey, meaning that at Barnardo’s we will be here for our families throughout their adoption journey, offering support through assessment, placement and for as long as is needed by our families.

“There is specialist ongoing training, support groups and dedicated support from social workers who are passionate about the benefits of adoption for children.”
