EARLIER this month in Yester Years, we brought you a picture of the now demolished Kingsway pub.
It brought back a lot of happy memories for readers of their time in the pub
Staff at the Kingsway
John Nunnerley got in touch with his memories of the pub.
He said: "My father was a football pools agent and every Friday, once he had finished his pools, we would meet at the Kingsway for a couple of pints before I went to town to meet my girlfriend (now my wife of 46 years).
"Before I started courting on Saturdays my brother Dave and me used to call in to the Kingsway for a couple of pints before going into town to the Red Lion or the Carlton. Happy days."
And Elaine Harrison got in touch to say that she was at the site in Latchford when it was being demolished and was told all the pub bricks were cleaned up and reclaimed to build a house in Wales.
Here dad George Smith meanwhile was a lorry driver and knew Warrington like the back of his hand.
He used to make lists of pubs that have been closed and the streets they were standing on.
