Largs lifeboat took part in an emergency search for a boat which included a crew member with a medical condition.

Tighnabruaich lifeboat were also called upon to find the dory vessel with four persons on board.

This emergency was raised by a family member of one of the persons aboard at 5.18pm last Sunday after the boat was overdue.

The last known position of the craft being between Port Bannatyne and Ardyne.

Largs lifeboat investigated the area to the west of Toward with Tighnabruaich searching the Rothesay Sound area.

Information was then received that the vessel had been making for Holy Loch resulting in the Largs RNLI moving their search onwards to this location.

As Largs lifeboat continued this search, it was relayed that the four occupants were safely ashore at Holy Loch Marina

Both lifeboats then returned to their respective stations with Largs being rehoused at 8.30pm.
