SNP’s Patricia Gibson increased her majority to win the North Ayrshire seat in the general election.
The results from the North Ayrshire and Arran constituency are as follows
SNP 23376
LAB 6702
GREEN 1114
CON 14855
LIB DEM 2107
Despite the December vote, the turnout in the constituency was 48,269 (65.6%) - an increase of 0.7% on the 2017 election from 64.9%.
In her winning speech, Patricia said that the SNP is seeking to protect Scotland from a ‘cruel, heartless and chaotic’ Westminster government, adding: “Scotland’s future must not be in the hands of anyone else but the hands of the Scottish people.
”That is the message that Scotland has sent loudly and clearly tonight to Downing Street”.
