Largs Lifeboat is looking to hear from anyone in the community who would be interested in volunteering for the RNLI crew.

Alasdair Woods, spokesman for Largs Lifeboat said: "The station has an excellent opportunity to become part of the team, learn new skills and gain the satisfaction of playing your part in the community in which we serve.

"Being a lifeboat crew member means you’re available to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week and committing to an extensive RNLI training programme.

"With a specific need to strengthen daytime availability of crew, we are looking for interested parties to help in providing essential lifesaving work to prevent the loss of life at sea."

You need to be aged between 17 and 50, and possess a driving licence.

Alasdair added: "This is a great opportunity to join a motivated, fun and enthusiastic local team whilst meeting new people within your community.

"You will have the satisfaction of helping to save lives at sea whilst building on skills and experience."
