There is a rare opportunity to see high quality exhibits of stained glass and hear about the techniques behind their design.

Alec Galloway will give a talk on “The Future of Stained Glass” to a local historical group.

Previously he was a lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art and following the closure of the Degree Level course in Glass Education he is aware of the lack of specialists today.

Now working and living in Inverkip he produces glass works and paintings with a range of specialisms covering commercial projects, restoration of traditional glass and contemporary gallery based pieces. His talk will focus on his own work past and present.

A spokeswoman for Largs Historical Society Anne Cowgill said: "We look forward to welcoming all members and visitors to the Largs Museum on Friday 31 January.

"The presentation will start at 2.30pm followed by refreshments and a chance to see more of Alec’s work."
