Yellow weather warnings for wind and rain have been issued for Friday and Saturday covering North Ayrshire, writes Adam Lyon.

Hot on the heels of Storm Dennis, the Met Office are warning of heavy rain on Friday with some travel disruption and local flooding for most of central Scotland. It is expected that spray and flooding will make journey times longer, and bus and train services could also be affected.

Saturday will see strong, gusty winds which may see some services disrupted, and high-sided vehicles may be delayed on bridges. Coastal routes may see some large waves and spray, potentially increasing journey times on the A78 between Inverkip and Ardrossan.
