West Kilbride Horticultural Society is celebrating Scotland’s ‘Year of Coasts and Waters’, writes Adam Lyon.
Visit Scotland, the country’s main tourist organisation, organised the year to inspire visitors and locals, and encourage them to experience all that Scotland’s shores have to offer.
To mark this, the society is holding special classes at its spring show on Saturday 21 March. There will be the chance to experience a miniature coastal garden, and there will be a coastal stitched story in the hobbies and handicrafts section, giving scope for lots of ideas coastal related, or with a watery theme.
Schedules for all the classes can be found in the library, D and B Gallery, Barony and the village hall. It can also be viewed on Facebook.
